This Refund Policy explains how refunds, cancellations and the statutory right of withdrawal apply to paid Plans on the Sealium document validation platform operated by Smart Vital Kft.(“Sealium”, “we”, “us”). It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service. Capitalised terms have the meaning given there.
1.Merchant of Record
Payments for paid Plans are processed by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record / reseller for these transactions. Paddle handles checkout, invoicing and the collection and remittance of applicable taxes (including EU VAT). Your purchase is therefore also subject to Paddle’s Buyer Terms and Refund Policy, which govern how refunds are assessed and issued. Refunds are issued through Paddle back to your original payment method.
2.General rule
Paid Plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Consistent with Paddle’s Refund Policy and Buyer Terms, Transactions are non-refundable, except where a mandatory statutory right applies (see section 4) or where Paddle approves a refund (see section 6). We do not offer any additional refund rights beyond those.
3.Free tier and trials
The Free Plan is available at no cost (100 API calls per month) so that you can evaluate the Service before purchasing. Because you can validate documents and inspect the resulting Validation Reports on the Free Plan without payment, we encourage you to confirm the Service meets your needs before upgrading to a paid Plan.
4.Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)
If you are a consumer resident in the EU/EEA, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 daysof purchase without giving a reason. However, consistent with Paddle’s Buyer Terms, because the Service is the supply of digital content and online services that begins immediately, you expressly request and consent that we (through Paddle) begin providing the Service during the withdrawal period, and you acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal once the Service has begun to be supplied with your consent.
Where the right of withdrawal still applies, you may exercise it by contacting us at info@sealium.eu within the 14-day period. Statutory withdrawal rights are available to consumers only; business customers (B2B) purchase under the Terms of Service and are not entitled to a consumer right of withdrawal.
5.Cancellation
You may cancel a paid Plan at any time from the developer console. Cancellation stops future renewals: it takes effect at the end of your current billing period, you retain access to your paid Plan until then, and your tier downgrades to Free afterwards. Cancellation on its own does not entitle you to a refund of fees already paid for the current period.
6.Refunds through Paddle
Because Paddle is the Merchant of Record, any refund outside your statutory rights is issued by Paddle under its Refund Policy and Buyer Terms, and whether such a refund is granted is determined by Paddle. If you believe you were charged in error, charged twice, or charged after a valid cancellation, contact us (see section 8) and we will raise the matter with Paddle so that it can be reviewed and, where appropriate, corrected.
Any service-credit remedy available under a Plan’s Service Level commitment (for example, the Business Plan uptime target) is governed by the Terms of Service and is provided as a service credit rather than a cash refund.
7.Enterprise and on-prem
Enterprise SaaS agreements and on-premise licences are sold under individual written contracts and are not processed through Paddle. Fees, refund and termination terms for those engagements are governed exclusively by the applicable order form or master agreement, which prevails over this Policy to the extent of any conflict. Except where mandatory law requires otherwise, fees paid under those contracts are non-refundable.
8.How to request a refund
To request a refund or raise a billing question, contact us at info@sealium.eu with the e-mail address on your account and the invoice or transaction reference. Approved refunds are returned through Paddle to your original payment method; the time it takes to appear depends on your bank or card issuer.
9.Changes to this Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice. The version in force at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase.
